Faculty of Dentistry

The courses have been designed to improve the way of thinking and the clinical abilities of the students and give them a broad knowledge to be able to compete with graduates of the greatest universities in the world.

In order to fulfill these tasks the study in the Faculty of Dentistry is divided into three stages; the first includes two semesters comprise the fundamental stage during which the students will study the basic general sciences necessary to prepare them for the main subjects taught in the dental school. The second will be the preclinical stage during which our students are trained in the dental laboratories, together with teaching the basic medical sciences needed to orient them with the human body as a whole. This stage includes four semesters before students are ready for the third (clinical) stage which also includes four semesters during which our students gain experience in clinical work, treating patients and diagnosing different oral and dental pathological conditions.

The curriculum has been designed and will be continuously revised and updated. Moreover, the curriculum includes the necessary knowledge and skills. To improve the quality of our graduates, new elective courses have been added to the program of study. Psychology and sociology, business administration, maintenance of equipments are examples of such courses that allow dental students to be better acquired and better equipped to interact with their society .

The instruction methods used in the Faculty of Dentistry Sinai University includes lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical and laboratory sessions, demonstration and multi-disciplinary clinical treatment of the patients under highly qualified staff members. In the Faculty of Dentistry Sinai University, the student has to successfully finish (220) credit hours, during 10 semesters, together with the summer semesters if needed.

Eventually, the student graduates with a Bachelor Degree in Dental Surgery and then he/she will be required to attend a full calendar year of post graduation training on patient in the dental hospital of the university. During this year of internship the most practice on patients in the different clinics of all dental specialties. Upon completion of study and training, recent knowledge and skills can be gained by the graduates of our faculty to be able to compete with the dental graduates of both the national and international universities.
